Our Team

Dr. Larry Hoffman was the founder of Gateway Dental. His unfortunate passing in 2019 left many shocked and saddened.

Larry was a modest, humble and genuine man who cared for each of his patients with kindness and compassion. As a leader, he expected excellence from his team and proudly recognized and rewarded those efforts. He was a brilliant speaker, inspiring anyone in his presence to be the best that they could be. Larry was a gentle soul and anyone fortunate enough to have known him is a better person for it. By title he was Dr. Hoffman, but to his team and his patients he insisted, “Just call me Larry.”

As the owner of Callander Bay Dental for 35 years, and serving generations of patients in that community, North Bay and a huge surrounding area, Larry decided in 2006 to sell his practice. He thought he was ready to gradually wind down his career, however, after working as an associate dentist at several practices for the 10 years that followed, he realized how much he missed having his own team and his own practice.

At the urging of his patients and team members who had followed him, Dr. Hoffman decided to open Gateway Dental in November of 2016. Larry handpicked his entire team and was thrilled to once again be able to share his wisdom and knowledge, and most importantly his philosophy regarding patient care.

As his team, we are proud to carry his philosophy forward as we honor his legacy.
